The Global Shapers Community (GSC), is network of city-based hubs developed and led by exceptional young leaders who are passionate about contributing to their local communities through undertaking projects that tackle social problems. The GSC is the youngest of several multi-stakeholder communities under the World Economic Forum. It was founded in 2011 to ensure that young leaders around the world would have a seat at the table of international development, and to self-organise for impact. Currently there are 436 Hubs globally, with over five thousand Shapers.
In conjunction with the World Economic Forum on ASEAN happening in Phnom Penh, we will be hosting a relaunch event at the Canopy @ Raintree. The event aims to kickstart the Phnom Penh Hub with the support of regional hubs and delegates that will be visiting for the broader conference. The evening will feature a roster of locally-minded businesses including Dorsu - ethically-made clothing brand, Samai - Cambodia's first rum distillery, Bloom Bakery - social enterprise producing beautiful baked goods and Roots'n'Burgers - local asian food concept that focuses on natural, local produce.
